Course Project Work
All course participants are required to work on the Course Project Work which will account for 25% of the Course contact time (4.5 hours out of a total of 18 hours for the 3-day Course).
- Project Work Details
The Project Work component will be a major feature of the Essentials of Health Informatics Course. In all, there will be three 90-min sessions in which participants will undertake a literature review, engage in discussions, report the results and give a plenary presentation on a topic that is relevant and current in health informatics. In the first course conducted, participants worked on the topic “Mobile Devices and their Impact on Healthcare Today”. The project will be supervised by the Course Tutor, Dr KC Lun.
- Project Work Grading
The Project Work will account for 50% of the final marks for Course Assessment. The other 50% will be given for written Assessment comprising Multiple Choice Questions to be taken by participants at the end of the Course.
Grading for the Project Work for each participant will be done by the Course Tutor.
The 3-day Course will feature two Case Studies. The aim of the Case Study is to give Course participants an opportunity to understand and appreciate issues and challenges with implementing Health Informatics projects on the ground outside the lectures given.
For each Case Study, a local expert, with proven experience in implementing Health Informatics projects, will be invited to share his/her experience with the Course participants.
Each Case Study is of 90-min duration, starting with a 45-min presentation by the Case Study tutor and followed by another 45-min of discussions (Q&A).
